Pretty good music by Deshead
I admit, I’m not a big fan of soft rock or slower beats. I like hard rock, metal, rap, upbeat country, and polka among others. So lately I’ve been trying to expand my musical tastes a little bit.
I heard of a new music website on BinRev radio called SongFight.org. Interesting concept. They come up with the titles and artists submit music with that title and theme. One of the good bands that came from that concept was deshead.
It looks like deshead only has 1 album right now called Waking up in August. You can buy the album in a couple of different formats. MP3/Ogg or CD
This follows the model of another good music site called Magnatune. They have an interesting payment model. For the digital files you choose how much money you want to spend between $5 and $18. For the CD the pricing is the same but they will add $5 to the price you choose to cover the labor and material of burning the CD and putting the package together. Magnatune gives half of what you choose to pay to the artist directly.

mp3.com operated in that fashion originally… it’s interesting how that evolved.
