I screwed that upgrade up.
I upgraded the blog software to fix a security hole. I ignored the little message that said “make sure you know what you are doing, here is how to fix any problems”. BAH! I won’t have any problems. Over a month later I gave up and told myself I just need to reinstall the site. I lost about 8 hours worth of text and informational stuff. Which I of course should have backed up and didn’t.
Remember to always back stuff up!!!
I think I need send out a family wide email about the importance of backing up. Especially now that it is so easy and cheap with portable drives. The tornadoes that went through our area a few weeks ago really scared me into thinking about backups. Now with the poor backups I had (ie. none) I couldn’t get my website up very fast when I messed it up.
